A well can change everything and save hundreds of lives
LET'S BUILD IT TOGETHER
WATER EMERGENCY:
When the earth stops breathing

In the northern Ivory Coast, in the Bounkani region, water is a rare commodity.
In many rural and isolated areas, there are no streams or reliable wells; families are forced to drink dirty water collected from small pools or makeshift springs.
In recent years, the climate crisis has turned drought into a constant threat, whose duration has increased by 29% over the last twenty years.
For millions of people, this is not just a statistic, but a humanitarian crisis that erases any possibility of a future.
Where life depends on nature, without water everything stops : the land dies and people get sick.
A safe source is not a choice, it is the only chance to survive.
BEYOND THE NUMBERS:
The story of Karidja and Ousmane
We met Karidja at the Assoum health center. She was there for her son Ousmane, who was suffering from severe acute malnutrition . Karidja had walked dozens of kilometers to get him included in Interlife's nutritional programs and save his life.
Ousmane received his first treatments at six months old, but his condition, which had initially improved, deteriorated again. Treatment alone isn't enough: the improvements faded once he returned home.
Karidja asked us to follow her to her village , the Peul camp near Dinanidouo, to show us the root of the problem.
There is no reliable water source here, just a small hole in the ground where water emerges naturally: exposed to external agents, contaminated and shared with animals.
It is the only water available for washing, cooking and drinking.

Consuming this water has serious consequences, especially for children: recurrent gastrointestinal infections lead to dehydration and compromise nutrient absorption, making treatments for malnutrition ineffective. This is also what happens to Ousmane.
The nearest well is over 20 kilometers away: a distance impossible to walk every day. Records from the Assoum I Health Center show that 100% of children treated for malnutrition do not have access to clean water. Without clean water, any treatment becomes temporary. Any improvement risks being lost.
Ousmane is not an isolated case.
Hundreds of children are exposed to the same risks in the village of Dinanidouo. Here, a well means safe water for over 500 people: prevention, health, and a future.

THE IMAGES DOCUMENT THE ONLY WATER SOURCE FOR THE ENTIRE VILLAGE: A PUDDLE OF WATER
STAGNANT AND MUDDY.
EMERGENCY APPEAL:
The village needs water now
The urgency of this intervention is dictated by a formal and desperate request for help received by Interlife.
The village chief wrote to us: “The water is almost gone, lives are at risk, the village can't hold out any longer.”
An immediate response is needed; the well construction site must open immediately.

FROM BOOK TO ACTION:
Don't open... that tap!" by Antonella Mei, for our appeal
The “Adopt a Drop” mission is also supported by author Antonella Mei.
His book, “Don’t Open… That Tap!” (Alpes Edizioni), explores themes of listening and unconditional help.
The author has chosen to support Interlife by including a QR code in the book that points to this emergency appeal.
This bond will be strengthened in his next work, turning narrative inspiration into a real well for villages like Dinanidouo .
TURN EVERY DROP INTO ACTION
Every contribution is a part of the well.
The appeal is urgent: we need funds now to start drilling and bring water where today there is only mud.
CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Companies can also take action
with Interlife
Businesses have the opportunity to respond to this emergency by adopting the entire project or a "drop" of the construction.
