We received an urgent request for help from the village chief of Dinanidouo.

Extreme drought in the Bounkani region of Ivory Coast has increased by 29%: natural sources are now only pools of contaminated mud , which poses an enormous risk to the population, especially children.

 

 

  • Objective: Construction of well and pumping system

  • Beneficiaries: 500 people

  • Status: Water emergency declared and critical health conditions, chronic gastrointestinal infections, parasitic infestations, and widespread dehydration. The lack of potable water is causing a spike in severe acute malnutrition among children under 5. Consumption of contaminated water negates the effectiveness of all medical treatments.

  • Cost: €9,689
