Sustainability: Interlife model compatible with 90% of UN Agenda 2030 objectives

We share with you three launches from the Adnkronos agency related to the goals of Interlife and its Toolkit development model within the UN Agenda 2030.

SUSTAINABILITY: INTERLIFE MODEL COMPATIBLE WITH 90% OF UN AGENDA 2030 GOALS

Rome, 11 April (Adnkronos) - Food security, increased income for families, schooling for children, social cohesion and entrepreneurial dynamism, environmental sustainability and optimization of resources. These are some of the surprising results of the INTERLIFE development model, 90% compatible with the 17 objectives of the UN Agenda 2030, which emerged from the report produced by the Etisos Foundation and presented today in Rome at the Press Room of the Chamber of Deputies. The mission and the concrete results obtained in recent years by INTERLIFE have attracted the interest of the Mission Structure of the Mattei Plan during a recent meeting held at Palazzo Chigi. INTERLIFE has created a concrete and innovative development model to create job opportunities in contexts of extreme poverty and poverty and to offer populations an alternative to migration: the INTERLIFE ®Toolkit. A winning model for the development of low-income countries. Among the results achieved: increased food security with 84% of beneficiaries going from just one meal a day to 3; increased schooling for children with 100% of children from families benefiting from the Toolkit now going to school; access to higher education for 78% of beneficiary families who have the opportunity to invest in their children's education, compared to the previous access figure estimated between 5 and 10%; increased income with a +108% increase in income thanks to the INTERLIFE Toolkit. Great entrepreneurial dynamism is also noted with 67% of beneficiaries declaring that they have reinvested their income after the passage of the Toolkit to increase their business. SUSTAINABILITY: INTERLIFE MODEL COMPATIBLE WITH 90% OF UN AGENDA 2030 GOALS

Fondazione Etisos based its analysis on the SDG evaluation, taking into account reference indicators (Key Performance Indicators) and collecting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data of INTERLIFE's activity and its Toolkit model. Specifically, the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals were taken as a reference to investigate the sustainability in the SDG context of the INTERLIFE Toolkit model methodology, used for the implementation of various projects that, although contextually and geographically distant from each other, maintain a structural coherence that justifies their overall evaluation. Overall, the score obtained is high as it is higher than 80%. Furthermore, the results obtained for each of the 17 SDG objectives demonstrate how INTERLIFE has fully understood the relevance of the interdependence of the different dimensions of sustainability. What is the INTERLIFE Toolkit: it is a tool for starting micro-enterprises capable of generating regular income with comprehensive programs that provide training, equipment, raw materials, professional skills - in cultivation, breeding and marketing of products - and all the support to start, from scratch, a business capable of supporting the beneficiaries and their families and triggering a chain reaction of solidarity for the entire community. The main feature of the INTERLIFE Toolkit is in fact its replicability and the multiplier effect of the initial investment: after starting their own business, the beneficiary undertakes to package a new Toolkit to be allocated to another person in difficulty. Sustainability and scalability are the fundamental and intrinsic characteristics of the model, which not only allows to guarantee, over the years, continuity to the project actions, but also to increase the number of beneficiaries while simultaneously reducing the cost per beneficiary/person

The percentage of Toolkit transfer from one beneficiary to another is 100%, with a consequent strengthening of community ties, the reduction of discrimination and the growth of spontaneous community initiatives of solidarity, public health and collective well-being. The INTERLIFE model is also environmentally sustainable: 100% of the rural Toolkits are organic and promote soil regeneration and reforestation of areas at risk of desertification. For example, in Côte d'Ivoire and Burkina Faso, INTERLIFE has provided training and work opportunities to a total of 4,000 unemployed young people, aged between 18 and 40, through the distribution of 4,000 Toolkits. These have improved the future prospects of work and well-being for thousands of families, allowing many people who wanted to stay and live in their own country. The equal costs for beneficiaries have then doubled thanks to the transfer of the Toolkit from one beneficiary to another person in difficulty. "Even where poverty and unemployment seem impossible to eradicate, the INTERLIFE model allows us to multiply benefits and beneficiaries and at the same time progressively reduce the project cost with an important leverage effect. It is precisely because of these peculiarities that we believe our model can represent a great example for a development plan for the African continent and we are very pleased with the interest shown by the Mission Structure for the Mattei Plan, which we recently met at Palazzo Chigi". comments Giorgia Gambini, President of INTERLIFE ETS. "There is no doubt that it is necessary to create a development plan for Africa and that all countries must commit to promoting it and contributing to resolving the dramas linked to the migration issue by implementing sustainable and long-lasting actions, not limited exclusively to simple economic aid. We need to put concrete tools in the hands of those living in poverty to be able to improve their own situation and that of the community and the Toolkit represents an innovative alternative to other forms of social economy", concludes Gambini. "We are extremely proud to have produced the report for such an important project as the INTERLIFE Toolkit. It is an honor for us to accompany INTERLIFE in this important presentation. The data speak for themselves: the INTERLIFE project is 90% compatible with the 17 points of sustainable development of the UN Agenda 2030. This result demonstrates INTERLIFE's concrete commitment to contributing to a more sustainable and inclusive future for all. Etisos Foundation is committed to promoting the culture of sustainability and supporting organizations on their path towards a more responsible future and the collaboration with INTERLIFE is a concrete example of our commitment in this field", says Giada Storti, General Director of Etisos Foundation.
