The Mediterranean

“The Mediterranean" is the English version of the original song "Mediterraneo", written by Giorgia Gambini, president of Interlife.

The song was born from the collaboration with the singer Sandy Chambers .

The violin voice was entrusted and composed by the internationally renowned violinist Manrico Padovani as in the original song Mediterraneo which has totaled more than 240,000 views on YouTube.

The musical production is by Giorgia Gambini, Marco Mantovani, Davide Lepido, Livio Magnini and Cristian Piccinelli.

The song was born from a strong desire to concretely address the humanitarian crisis that affects the most vulnerable people, particularly in the Mediterranean and in poor areas of Africa.

The song deeply reflects Interlife's mission, which aims to promote sustainable development in the countries of the Global South, offering food security, education and work. Through this song, Interlife raises awareness of the migration emergency and proposes concrete solutions, such as inclusiveness and neo-entrepreneurship projects, which aim to create economic opportunities on site.

“Receiving the call for “help” from Giorgia for her project was an honor for me. In reality, I didn’t think I was up to it given the importance of the text I was about to write. But then I closed my eyes and saw the words in front of me that matched exactly what Giorgia was telling in the Italian version without losing intensity or intention. I am very proud of what I wrote and very sad that it needed to be written.

I am so happy that there are organizations like Interlife that are committed to doing what should not need to be done”

INTERNATIONALLY FAMOUS VIOLINIST, INTERLIFE GOODWILL AMBASSADOR

Manrico Padovani

"I decided to participate with my violin in the compilation "Mediterraneo" because after seeing their work, I firmly believe in Interlife and its projects, in the possibility of providing solutions
valid alternatives to people who out of desperation choose to leave, often going towards the
death. Interlife tries to help them directly in their places of origin, especially with
the Interlife Toolkit; invented by them that deserves to be awarded...
With this song we want to give a message of hope and possibility, because I believe
firmly that a person can achieve great results if placed in the right conditions
to be able to flourish. Thank you all so much!"

PRESIDENT OF INTERLIFE

Georgia Gambini

"The song 'The Mediterranean' was born with the intention of raising awareness of the tragedy of migrants in the Mediterranean. It does not only want to denounce the tragedy that occurs in the Mediterranean, but also wants to inspire positive change and offer concrete solutions, such as the support and development programs that Interlife promotes in the poorest and most vulnerable communities through its sustainable development model.

The compilation "Mediterraneo" aims to raise awareness of these concrete alternatives and raise funds to support our humanitarian projects to save the lives of thousands of extremely poor and vulnerable people in Africa, ensuring them a better and safer future.

We must act immediately by launching sustainable and solidarity-based food and economic security activities, such as the Interlife Toolkits, to save the lives of thousands of families. I hope that this project will touch the hearts of those who will watch it and stimulate a concrete commitment for a more humane and safe future for all."

Thousands of people will no longer be forced to leave and will change their lives forever, for the better.
