A response to migration

irregular

The Interlife Toolkit and
the EP "Mediterranean"

There are thousands of people who are forced to leave by sea every day, leaving their homeland in search of a new life.

MEDITERRANEAN HAS BEEN CALLED THE WORLD'S DEADLIEST 'ROAD'

The latest United Nations data shows that since 2014, more than 26,000 people have died or are missing crossing the Mediterranean .

Most of these deaths (over 20,000) occurred in the Central Mediterranean route, considered among the most dangerous in the world for migrants.

In total, more than 50,000 migrants have lost their lives along various global migration routes since 2014, with the Mediterranean being the deadliest region.

IRREGULAR MIGRATION

What alternative?

Reducing migration flows from Africa requires innovative international strategies that improve the living conditions of local populations and offer opportunities for sustainable development.

Since 2012, thanks to the work of Interlife, over 20,000 people have chosen to stay in Africa and start their own business, avoiding the dangerous path of irregular migration.

To truly address the problem of irregular migration, it is necessary to intervene on the so-called push factors, or the causes that push people to leave their country : extreme poverty, lack of work and malnutrition.

INTERLIFE TOOLKIT: AN ANSWER

Local development and the possibility of staying

The Interlife Toolkit model is one of the most effective responses for those living in conditions of extreme vulnerability as it offers concrete tools for building a life project.

Rather than relying on simple financial aid, which in the long run does not address the root causes of migration, the Toolkit provides training, equipment, raw materials and skills to start family micro-enterprises .

This approach generates sustainable income and, at the same time, strengthens local communities.

INTERLIFE'S MUSICAL PROJECT

The Mediterranean EP

Interlife's compilation “Mediterraneo” is a musical project conceived to raise public awareness on the tragedy of migration and support a concrete humanitarian initiative in Côte d'Ivoire.

With the artistic production of Livio Magnini of Bluvertigo, the project aims to raise funds to offer over 2000 extremely vulnerable people the opportunity to start income-generating activities through the Interlife Toolkit , an alternative solution to irregular migration.

The artists involved in the compilation, including Sandy Chambers , Lena Lane , TolKins , Mahant and Interlife President Giorgia Gambini , come together to spread a message of hope and action.

The songs highlight issues such as poverty and food insecurity, proposing economic emancipation and sustainable development as answers for those living in conditions of extreme vulnerability.

This project aims not only to raise funds, but also to promote wider awareness of the migration crisis and the alternatives that can be offered to those risking their lives along the migration routes in the Mediterranean.

Thousands of people will no longer be forced to leave and will change their lives forever, for the better.

The Mediterranean

“The Mediterranean" is the English version of the original song "Mediterraneo", written by Giorgia Gambini, president of Interlife.

The song was born from the collaboration with the singer Sandy Chambers .

The violin voice was entrusted and composed by Manrico Padovani as in the original piece Mediterraneo.

The musical production is by Giorgia Gambini, Marco Mantovani, Davide Lepido, Livio Magnini and Cristian Piccinelli.

The song was born from a strong desire to concretely address the humanitarian crisis that affects the most vulnerable people, particularly in the Mediterranean and in poor areas of Africa.

The song will be presented as an absolute preview during the Day of Inclusivity

at the Vigorelli Stadium in Milan.
